Boat delivery, travel preparations and even some sailing

Last blog I discussed ‘anti-rust maintenance’ done on AIR BORN’s trailer.  Friday last week I did paint the sections that were rust and scale was removed and primed.  The trailer looks much better –

In addition to working on AIR BORN another Sage 17 went through final preparations for being picked up by her owner –

Sage 17 ALETHEIA is already on her home waters and went for her first sail just two days after leaving Colorado!

I’ve been spending a lot of time calling vendors these past couple of weeks as there are a couple of highly customized Sage 17s in the build schedule.  I’m sure these customizations will be of interest to folks and will post details as the boats begin assembly over the next couple of months.

Good ‘Sage Marine friends’ from Texas are visiting the shop and last weekend we went for an enjoyable sail in AIR BORN on Lake Dillon –

To end this busy week before the 4th of July holiday I spent some time getting Sage Marine’s Montgomery 15 through a ‘systems check’ and she is ready to travel to Monterey Bay for the Cruiser Challenge

Happy 4th to everyone and hope you are out on the water during the holiday!

What!, wait a second! How did you get that S15 ready so soon, and without any pictures of the boat except this one on a trailer no less. Where are nice profile shots? Rigged shots? interior shots? You have been holding out on us.

  2. yes that is a old Montgomery 15. The Sage 15 is moving forward. Jerry is working on getting the finishing sanding on the cabin liner plug and will then make the mold. The prototype Sage 15 masts arrived at the shop last week. The deck mold is receiving finishing maxing in preparation for the first deck to be made.
